The Community Planet Foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit foundation. Our mission is to create and demonstrate planned, cooperative, ecological Communities that will enable people to live in greater harmony with themselves, each other, and the environment.
The purpose of the Community Planet Foundation (“CPF”) is to create a Community that will serve as a tool for ekistics (the science of city and area planning dealing with the integration of basic needs of both the individual and the entire community) research and public education to demonstrate and promote the concept of The Highest Good For All.
Now more than ever we see the need for such a Community. The world we live in is characterized by conflict, greed, personal alienation and isolation, dysfunctional relationships, hunger, poverty, diminishing resources and the increased pollution of the environment, all of which threaten the survival of humanity and the planet. The way our lives are organized, the way our cities are designed, and the way our economy functions all negatively impact the planet while contributing to the isolation and alienation of individuals. These problems are so interconnected that to try and fix them piece by piece is not possible.
The way people live together and relate together in Community is the basic building block that needs to be changed in order to transform our planet. The creation of the demonstration Community will enable others to see how people can cooperate to create and enjoy a higher standard and a happier style of living in balance with the environment. The creation of new Communities and the regeneration of existing communities utilizing CPF concepts and guidelines will support people in their personal growth and attainment of personal goals, and provide them with a prosperous and sustainable life-style through the sharing of resources, while at the same time addressing the global challenges listed above. Eventually, replication of CPF-style Communities and similar models around the world will have a transforming effect on the environment, world peace and the prosperity of humankind as people learn the benefit of choosing to live for the Highest Good of all humanity. People can transform the world when they see and experience a better way.
